About the programme
The project will strengthen youth mental health and wellbeing through cross-community and cross-border models that bring young people together in shared, supportive spaces. Building on this foundation, it will deliver peacebuilding and youth leadership programmes that equip participants with the confidence and skills to act as agents of change, fostering reconciliation and shaping a more peaceful future for the next generation.
How it works
OUR Generation is a partnership led by Action Mental Health, which aims to empower and invest in our young people. Bringing together the expertise of nine partner organisations, the project is committed to delivering impactful initiatives under the PEACEPLUS Programme’s specific objective of ‘Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing.’
The cross-border partnership consists of: Action Mental Health, Donegal Youth Service, Youth Action NI, Youth Work Ireland, Playboard NI, Boys & Girls Clubs NI, Include Youth, and Ulster University.
Participant story
“The peer mentoring programme taught me how to really listen. I’ve learned how to talk to people in a way that helps, and how to make sure everyone feels safe and supported. I want to help other pupils through grief like I went through. I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re alone, because I know what that feels like”.
